The same respondents to this study were asked what would most likely improve their smile: almost 100% answered that a teeth whitener or teeth whitening procedures would be best.

Dental bleaching or what is normally called teeth whitening is a procedure within the dental cosmetology department. As a person ages, the teeth become darker due to minerals that may alter the structure and pore formation on enamel.

The following are teeth whitening comparisons of different products and teeth whitening methods to help you gauge which ones suit your needs.

  • In-Office Power Teeth Whitening or Bleaching: this procedure is observed to have given patients dramatic results. This is done inside the dental office in a little over an hour—fast and with visible results. The catch however, is that it is extremely expensive. It may cost around a thousand dollars or two, depending on the dental professional who conducted the bleaching. Furthermore, it may need maintenance or further visits. If you desire this procedure, just ensure you have enough cash to support a few visits.
  • Teeth Whitening Gels: this is a popular product in the market right now. Not as expensive as the aforementioned dental procedure, but can also yield positive results. However, you have to be extra patient as initial results will be seen after 3 to 4 weeks of constant application. Some reports have also noted minimal negative effects on users like gum irritation and tooth sensitivity.
  • Teeth Whitening Strips: Popping out in every drug store and convenience store are teeth whitening strips, which are relatively inexpensive. These strips are handy and can be used even when you are working in the office. But, the effect may take longer than usual: around 1-4 months.
  • Teeth Whitening Toothpaste: Perhaps the most common product available anywhere are teeth whitening toothpastes with abrasives that brush through enamel eliminating chemicals that cause the stain.
